CONCEPT

Kaleido is a collection inspired by the 1980s Skinhead subculture, punk music, ripped jeans, and rebellious youth. Set in a melancholic Dublin marked by drugs, clubs, and music, it draws from the intensity of the era and figures like Sinéad O’Connor.
The collection explores a bridge between 1980s Dublin and contemporary creativity, taking cues from Doug Foster’s contemporary art installations that recreate hallucinatory imagery.

MOODBOARD

DOUG FOSTER'S

Doug Foster’s work is described as hypnotic. Drawing on years of research into the human visual system and a background as a cameraman, he creates images that affect viewers on a visceral level. Repeated spatial patterns and subtle temporal rhythms stimulate the brain, while what first appears abstract is actually complexly filmed elements of nature.For the Kaleidoscope installation at Bar Neon, guests encounter suspended cityscapes and a central oculus showcasing the artwork Kaleidoscope Sky.

DRAWINGS OVERVIEW

These sketches showcase the Kaleidoscope-inspired shoes and bags, translating hypnotic patterns and bold textures into wearable accessories.

ANKLE HEELS

The ankle heels boots are inspired by the reference artworks. The first version features a side-cut upper with a psychedelic printed leather front and denim back, completed with a rear zipper. Two white lacquered metal chains wrap the ankle as decorative elements, and the shoes rest on a black leather sole with leather lining and insole.
The second version has a printed leather front with a Donegal Tweed back, a rear zipper, and two metal chains at different heights decorating the ankle. The sole combines black and purple leather, with leather lining and insole.

SNEAKERS LACE-UP

The lace-up sneakers are inspired by the reference artworks. The first version features a tweed upper with printed leather inserts and a steel chain used as lace loops, set on a black anti-slip rubber sole with an electric blue band and a steel detail, with leather lining and insole.

The second version presents a printed leather upper with black leather inserts and a white lacquered steel chain used as lace loops, resting on a black rubber sole with a contrasting denim band and a white lacquered steel dome detail, with leather lining and insole.

SOCK SNEAKERS

The sock sneakers are inspired by the reference artworks and crafted in double-layered lycra to ensure maximum comfort. The stretch bicolor upper features a smoothed toe and is finished with a white lacquered steel chain applied as decoration. They rest on a black rubber sole with a white lacquered steel dome detail under the heel, with leather lining and insole.
The second version features a bicolor printed lycra upper with a smoothed toe and a steel chain detail, set on a black EVA sole with a steel dome under the heel. Both versions are completed with leather lining and insole.
